Learning curve but has become my standard Love this! Absolutely a learning curve! It took a few times and trial and lots of mess error to get it right but now that I have the hang of it I’ll never go back to regular eyeliner. The charcoal is very soothing to my eyes! I love that I only actually need to apply it a couple times a week not daily. I sleep with it and wake up and my eyes feel so good. It really does take some time to get the hang of it. I found to tap as much of the powder off against the sides before fully pulling out the applicator is key. Then it’s finding the right pressure once you close your eyes and swipe it along your waterline. I love how it gets my top waterline as well as the bottom all at once. I do it first thing and then clean up any loose powder with oil before I do anything else. (I use Moroccan clay, also 100% natural and ancient, as my eye shadow and blush/bronzer~it’s just the matter of using the right amount in the right way and using it sparingly. Also it’s a lip stain.) The eye powder can be messy but it cleans up easily until you get it right. If it’s messy it just means you didn’t tap it enough to remove loose powder from the applicator. Once in place on the waterline of the eyes it stays in place for days. No wonder they used this and it’s still here and in use for thousands of years. The wood jar and applicator is very nice. It holds and delivers the powder in the perfect amount. It’s also very pretty as a tool and it’s elegant to use. Something about it is so earthy. I can see myself carving one for myself out of stone someday but the wood for now is quite nice. It’s become part of my self care routine and a big upgrade from regular makeup. The powder is going to last a really long time and very easy to get more and refill so great value really.
