There is no doubt that spiritual darkness and hopelessness enslaved humanity before Christ’s coming. Jesus brought the light of salvation and truth that pierced through that darkness. His ministry, death, and resurrection ushered in a new era where people walking in the shadow of spiritual death could still find eternal life in Him.
